Sometimes we make a piece in clay with a clear idea for decoration in mind, this was not one of those times!

However on a trip to Belgium, we came across a few tobacco jars in Museums, and were reminded of this undecorated piece we had back at our studio. The colonial implications of these tobacco jars are unsettling, but Dom wanted to reclaim something with this piece.

We have Jamaican heritage and were (until recently) light smokers… One after dinner, a few if we’re at the pub, no judgement please.. The ladies on here are indeed smoking, so obviously not a piece for everyone but we’re really pleased with how it turned out.
